Woo boy. As a disabled person who loves to write, this was a hot mess from the NaNoWriMo folks. I use AI when I am writing small things and having trouble with coherency due to my stroke and other health issues. Never for anything that A) Is monetized or B)something for a competition.
I give the AI the pieces of the message I am wishing to convey and merely ask it to help with cohesion and to make sure I don't always sound like a rambling idiot. I find it helpful. I have never, nor would I ever use or condone the use of generative AI for submissions of Scholarly Work, Competitions, or any form of Monetization.
To try and frame opposition to the allowance of AI in the competition as #ableist and #classist is so beyond disrespectful. Just when you thought this Organization couldn't dip lower, they certainly stepped up to do just that.
