CORE BELIEFS:
I am a firm believer in Equality:
I oppose with every fiber of my being any form of bigotry and descrimination. This includes: Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Misogony, Anti-Semitism, Ableism and Ageism. People should be free to be themselves, worship how they wish to worship all without any risk to life or limb.

I am against Capitalism:
Capitalism has bred more inequality and strife than one could imagine. It props up the ruling class while keeping the working class in a state of poverty. Productivity has risen hand over fist year after year, and by extension profits in these companies. But the wages of the average worker have remained stagnant and not kept up with the cost of living etc. So I can not in good conscience support a system that is designed to keep the wealthy wealthy and the poor poor.

I am against non-stop Wars:
I do not support the Military Industrial Complex and the constant War Machine. In our history as a nation, we have been at War 226 of our 248 (as of 4th of July 2024) history. Over 90% of our history we have been at War. That is unreal to me. That's not to mention our interventions in foreign countries and propping up of Despots only to have that bite us in the ass. I don't support that either. Peace is the goal we must all be working towards. And you certainly can not have peace at the end of a missile, or down the barrel of a gun.

I am for proper education and paying our teachers proper wages:
Our education system in this country is laughable. We rank poorly in Math and Science, and while we have not declined, our numbers have not improved either. And most of this has to do with the failed Bush policies of making standardized testing the be all and end all of education, as well as abysmal funding for teachers and schools. We should be putting more resources into education. Period.

There are many more things I could go on about. And I will! You can see my views at the links below!

Generative AI backlash hits annual writing event, prompting resignations

Woo boy. As a disabled person who loves to write, this was a hot mess from the NaNoWriMo folks. I use AI when I am writing small things and having trouble with coherency due to my stroke and other health issues. Never for anything that A) Is monetized or B)something for a competition.

I give the AI the pieces of the message I am wishing to convey and merely ask it to help with cohesion and to make sure I don't always sound like a rambling idiot. I find it helpful. I have never, nor would I ever use or condone the use of generative AI for submissions of Scholarly Work, Competitions, or any form of Monetization.

To try and frame opposition to the allowance of AI in the competition as and is so beyond disrespectful. Just when you thought this Organization couldn't dip lower, they certainly stepped up to do just that.

So beyond frustrated with the United States Healthcare system. A year I have tried to get this home oxygen situation resolved and I am no closer. Hoop after Hoop then the bar is moved and another hoop placed.

Linked up to Bridgy.fed finally. I think I have done enough building and setting things up for the day. Seems the ants are back despite the window being sealed. I am about to riot.

Trying to organize a social media workflow to get re-engaged in interacting with folks online. Will this be a successful endeavor?

DNC Disaster

3 min read

Vice President Harris and the Democratic National Convention had the opportunity to secure the votes of hundreds of thousands (if not more) of votes from the Palestinian Freedom Movement had they simply opted to grant a speaking spot to any number of Palestinian-American speakers that the Uncommitted Movement submitted to the DNC.

The movement wasn’t asking for an hour or even half an hour. They asked for 2 minutes of time, out of 32 hours. That’s it. An opportunity to speak to the nation and put their message to a greater audience. They had a laundry list of others speak, including the family of a hostage in Gaza. So it’s not as if the Gaza situation wasn’t already being addressed. But instead of offering this simple space of 2 minutes, they opted to not and completely gave the middle finger to the millions of voters who believe in the cause of Palestinian freedom.

During Harris’s speech to the convention she made it abundently clear that the Democratic Party is going to pursue Militarism and continue the status quo with Israel, refusing to even consider stopping arms sales to Israel. While she may not be as aggressive in her calls for the elimination of the Palestinian people as Trump is wishing to be, by continuing the Arms sales she makes the United States complicit in the genocide being committed.

I am absolutely baffled by the moves being made at the DNC. I thought sincerely that perhaps good things were coming with the addition of Governor Walz to the ticket. An olive branch to us progressives who have been ignored and shit on by the DNC for over 10 years. Perhaps a return to true leftist principles. I guess that hope was naive, because we have been shown that nope. Things will be continuing as usual.

The party loyalists, the Blue Maga, are dogmatic cultists who are circling the camp and attacking anyone who dares question the intelligence in recent moves or calling out the Harris Campaign and the DNC for their complete and utter disregard for the Palestinian people. They openly mock the dead, minimize the suffering, and gaslight those trying to do something about it. “Well why dont you vote for Trump! You might as well be campaigning for him”.

It’s so frustrating. I am not the brightest bulb in the box, and this post may not be the most coherent. But I know right when I see it and wrong when I see it. And US policy concerning Israel, especially in the current Gaza Conflict, is dead wrong. And the blood of the innocent Gazans killed by US Bombs is most assuredly on our hands. But G-d forbid you call out the death cult war machine in this country. Democrats and Republicans alike will come for you. But that doesn’t mean we should roll over and turn a blind eye. We need to fight like hell until leadership does the right thing. Period.
